Flight Director of the IKS Highlander at Harrison Middle School
Alias: Admiral Huckelberry
Michael Kaleta is a Flight Director at J. E. Harrison Middle School of the Baldwin-Whitehall School District. Mike, a teacher of 13 years, is currently teaching integrated science for 7th and 8th graders while coaching, girls volleyball, boys basketball and mens volleyball for Baldwin.
When Mike is not traversing the Universe with Dream Flight Adventures he enjoys his time on Earth climbing mountains, fly fishing and traveling with his wife.
Mike is especially excited to be working with the simulator because it allows teachers to integrate learning from all of the school’s curricula into one expansive lesson. Although Harrison’s inaugural program, “Contaminant,” deals primarily with Earth science and biology, there are aspects of the program that allow for mathematics, social studies, and language arts to become integral parts of the students’ simulator experience. Each of the other programs available allow for a similar expansion to meet the needs of every students, regardless of their learning style and level of interest.
